With roots planted over 50 years ago, the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition has evolved to include the disciplines of food science and human nutrition, which address current issues in health and wellness, with options in dietetics, food industry and business, food science, human nutrition, and hospitality management. Like all scientific disciplines, these areas have exponentially advanced through today’s technology. We can take the research to new levels with your help.
Perhaps some of the department’s most important work is serving the people of Illinois with its extension and outreach programs, which cover a wide range of subjects from nutrition and wellness to food safety and bioprocessing.
