The Division of Nutritional Sciences began in 1968 and is one of the top five nutritional sciences programs in the nation. This interdisciplinary program for graduate education in nutrition is made up of faculty from several colleges across campus. We need graduate fellowships to attract outstanding students to study and conduct research that will address national concerns such as obesity, nutrition and health, and nutritional genomics.
Our vision is to establish an endowment fund that will augment the support we receive from our member colleges and allow us to create new and exciting professional development opportunities for our students. For example, in addition to supporting travel to conferences, we would like to provide funding for students to travel to research laboratories at other institutions where they learn new techniques that augment their research. We also would like to establish an industry internship program for our students.
