Louise became associate dean for the Office of Advancement in late 2002. She describes her position as building relationships between the college and university with alumni, friends, corporations, and stakeholders–a conduit for the passage of information from campus to the outside world. With no two days ever the same, she enjoys the variety of work as she goes about promoting the college and university.

Louise graduated from the University of Illinois in 1973 with a degree in home economics, and received her MBA from Northern Illinois University in 1979. Her professional life has been spent in the corporate environment working for NICOR/Northern Illinois Gas Company. She held a variety of positions, completing her 24-year career there as vice president of sales. She joined the ACES Office of Advancement in the fall of 1997.

A native of nearby St. Joseph, Barry's background in agriculture began at an early age as he worked for farmers, a local seed corn company, and later, for his father in the family's wholesale meat business. After graduating from the U of I College of Commerce in 1983 with a degree in marketing, he spent 13 years with the Inland Steel Company, gaining experience in account and product management, market research, and economic analysis. While managing commercial relationships in the automotive sector for Inland in the upper-Midwest and Canada, Barry earned his MBA from the University of Michigan in 1994. Barry returned to his agricultural roots in 1996 when he joined the ACES Office of Advancement.


Kimberly Meenen

Kimberly began her career with the U of I in 1989 as an assistant editor at College of Veterinary Medicine. She became a director of development in April 2000 for that college.

Kimberly graduated in 1987 from the College of ACES in agricultural communications and was hired by The John Volk Company in Chicago as a public relations account executive with responsibilities for two major ag accounts—MoorMan Manufacturing Company and Spraying Systems, Inc.

However, late 1989 found Meenen back in Urbana-Champaign working as an assistant editor for the College of Veterinary Medicine. Her enthusiasm and hard work took her through a series of positions, with her final promotion in 2000 as director of development. At that time she maintained a major donor gift portfolio in excess of $6 million.

Kimberly is currently pursuing her master's degree in Higher Education Administration and will graduate in fall 2008. The Association of Fundraising Professionals has also benefited from Meenen's professional career since 1998, serving in several vice-presidential roles and as president.

Prior to joining the college in 2006, Jeff served as the first director of development with the Illinois Fire Service Institute. Prior to that, he worked for the Natural History Survey, was a principal investigator for the Corp of Engineers, served as trustee for the Village of Mahomet, was the mayor of Mahomet from 1997 to 2005, and collaboratively managed Webmakers Inc.,—an online Internet development company that served universal clients—with his brother.

Kim Morton stepped into the development position at the Illini Center in April 2003 and now serves as a liaison to the college's Chicago alumni and friends. Kim is an ACES graduate, past District 2 director for the ACES Alumni Association, active in the university's alumni community, and has a passion for our university and our college.

Kim is a 1982 graduate in agricultural economics; she earned a master's degree in business administration from DePaul University in 1990. Kim worked 17 years for the Northern Trust Company, Chicago, specializing in farm management, sales, and acquisitions for personal trusts and estates. She was eventually was named vice president and head of agricultural services. In 2001, Kim began to work for the Illinois Farm Bureau as a northeast legislative coordinator for the governmental affairs and commodities division.

Following graduation from Iowa State University, Angie spent seven years working for Dow Chemical Company, a part of Dow AgroSciences, as a chemical sales representative. This corporate background provided solid experience when she came to University of Illinois College of Business in 2005. Angie served as associate director of development, Corporate and Foundation Relations.

Angie joined the College of ACES in fall 2007.
